Shelf Space

I am thrilled to share some good news with everyone. My book was accepted as part of Tattered Cover's Local Authors program. It has been in the works for a long time and I finally had a chance to see it in person. Denver friends, I hope you consider purchasing a copy or recommend it to a friend. If I am lucky enough to move a few copies, then they will buy a few more and see where it goes from there. After work, I stopped by the Colfax Avenue location and signed seven copies.

My name might be on the cover but none of this happens without Chad Randall, Dave Blankenship and Jon Andrews. These three friends believed in me and pushed me to create the book. I have thanked them publicly and privately and will continue to do so. Jon Andrews is a talented artist and his cover design stands out for all the right reasons.

I am grateful for the opportunity because Tattered Cover doesn't have to dedicate a portion of the store for unknown and rookie authors. They could easily fill it with established authors and New York Times Bestsellers, but supporting the local writing community is important to them and they are helping all of us.

We all have big dreams and sometimes chase them. Other times, we are terrified of what might go wrong or failing at something new. Don't be! I hope someone reads this post and decides to take a chance and do something with one of their dreams. I promise you won't regret it.

I love to write and am having fun finishing up my second book. Jon is working on the artwork for the cover and I am anxiously waiting to see it. I refuse to sit on a porch when I am 75 years old, shaking my head and telling a friend I wish I had done something about that one dream. I hope you agree and better yet, I hope to read about your own story someday.
